Festival Weekend 3

The third Festival weekend will be opened by Cristian Măcelaru, the Budapest Festival Orchestra and Rudolf Buchbinder.

On Friday, 25 August 2023, the Mahler Chamber Orchestra under Daniel Harding will be at the Wolkenturm. Star virtuoso Daniil Trifonov will then take up the keys as soloist in Schumann's Piano Concerto. Brahms' Third Symphony brings the evening to a lyrical close.
The Austrian premiere of Philipp Manoury's «Anticipations», a work commissioned by Casa da Música Porto, musica viva of Bayerischer Rundfunk, Radio France and the Grafenegg Festival, will open the concert on 26 August 2023, performed by the Tonkunstler Orchestra conducted by Brad Lubman.
On the afternoon of 26 August 2023, the Closing Concert of the composer-conductor workshop Ink Still Wet with the world premieres of the young composers will take place with free admission.
In the matinee on Sunday, 27 August 2023, the celebrated soprano Anna Prohaska and Il Giardino Armonico will present their programme «Serpent & Fire», including works by Purcell, Hasse and Handel. In the evening, the Rundfunk-Sinfonieorchester Berlin together with its chief conductor Vladimir Jurowski will be guests at the Wolkenturm.
