The idea has its particular charm: where once horses trotted in elegant circles, a new form of artistry is now in the saddle. Concerts by the Tonkünstler and other ensembles have been taking place in the hall of the former Riding School for nearly 30 years. Some smaller rooms in the complex, such as the saddle room, still display evidence of their former function. In the Marstall (stables) there are even still marble basins from which horses of a previous era were able to quench their thirst in aristocratic style.
The construction of the new concert hall Auditorium has certainly not been the end of the cultural events in the Reitschule. The latter provides an ideal acoustic for recitals and chamber ensembles, with the new concert hall it has found a fitting counterpart that brings together the historical buildings with modern architecture.
In case of bad weather during concerts on the Wolkenturm, ticket holders in category 7 and lawn seating are able to watch a live video transmission here.
