Music is always in season in Grafenegg thanks to our excellent Auditorium concert hall. The Season Sounds with concerts by our resident orchestra, the Tonkunstler Orchestra of Lower Austria, and numerous renowned guest artists accompany you musically through the year. The current season once again offers you a varied programme with great classical orchestral pieces, masterpieces of the Romantic period and a diverse orchestral repertoire of the 20th century.
We would especially like to recommend the exciting opening of the Season Sounds with an Austrian premiere: Thomas Larcher's «Time», a work dedicated to transience. The concert is completed by Leonard Bernstein's «Halil» and the famous Fourth Symphony by Tchaikovsky.
The two Christmas concerts as part of the atmospheric Grafenegg Advent also invite you to a very special listening experience, when «Jauchzet Gott in allen Landen», one of the most virtuosic and impressive solo cantatas by Johann Sebastian Bach, will be heard.
Be sure to take a look at the other festive concerts: at the turn of the year, the Tonkunstler Orchestra brings the old year to a close in a good mood with a cheerful, upbeat programme. On Good Friday, Richard Wagner's «Parsifal» is on the programme, and the Easter concert features The Erlkings with their fresh and unusual arrangements of art songs by Beethoven and Schubert.
